The state co. for agricultural supplies is one of ministry of agriculture formatted located in Baghdad and has branches in all governorates .
It is managed by director general and chairman of board who does the necessary works to take care of company's activity according to authorizations granted by the minister and company's management board .
As well as he represents the company before the court s and commissions related to governmental official in addition to have the right to acting others to do some his authorities.
It works according to the law of public companies No(22) of 1997,as economic unit self financed, and completely owned to the government (state).the company has a legal entity and financial and manager at independence. It works in accordance with economical basis of commercial nether, the commercial, marketing and accounting activities of the company yield to the financial control of the financial control divan in auditing its accounts and measuring the proficiency of its performance.
the company since its establishment undertakes to provide the agricultural production requirement by the nation local production or by importing , in addition to the company activity of distributing the available agricultural requirement within the company to the deserved peasants , farmers and investors , in co-ordination with the directorates of agriculture and the other concerning authorities according to specific measures and instructions ,serving for justice fulfillment in distribution to the majority of productive with moderate price . therefore , the company endures amounts of subsidy for the agricultural production requirements and they are covered by the state within the ministry of finance allotments , in order to restrict the rise of agricultural goods price in the local market , for serving the iraqi consumer from one aspect and to increase his income from the other aspect.
Then for the sake of organizing the agricultural requirements trading in the light of the new changes and orientations , must be a prospect look by the company , working for the rehabilitation of the company in lines of new function towards decreasing the amounts of subsidy , and opening fruitful work horizons to increase the earning and decrease expenditure , so that the company will be close to privatization than the previous lines .
The main aim of the work state company for agricultural supplies is the participation in supporting the national economy the field of maintaining the agricultural requirement to the vegetable and animal production , and the organization of the trade of these requirements and planning resolution .
These agricultural requirement will be provided from the local resources ,they are represented by the production of the industrial sector(public / mixed / private ) and what is imported by the country from aboard , and according to the financial allotments of foreign currency allocated to this company .
The another aims of the company are depend upon the modern technologies and encourage the use of them in the agricultural sector , and to provide the spare stock in addition to the support of farmers and peasants with the agricultural requirement and the support of the plantation and harvest , and to promote the incase of required production and productivity .
The company contributes activity in serving and developing the agricultural process in Iraq through providing the requirements necessary for agriculture production of animal and plant by local markets if available and imported from well world origins , to be known that those requirements our subjected to quality test including the imports seeds in all types, chemical fertilizer pesticides insecticides, rodenticides, herbicides, plastic sheds for endure agriculture irrigation pumps, tractors, harvesters, all irrigation systems, poultry feeds, veterinary drugs and vaccines as well as the equipment of combating and bee breeding in addition to spare parts.
